AsiaFlux Workshop 2009 organizing committee, with generous support by sponsoring organizations, prepared several travel support programs for those who, due to financial hardship, are not able to cover the cost to attend AsiaFlux Workshop 2009.
Students and junior scientists who desire to present their studies at AsiaFlux Workshop 2009 are encouraged to apply for these support programs. One can apply for multiple programs. however, he or she will be selected for only one of the awards.
JAXA Award for AsiaFlux Workshop 2009 (posted on Jun 10, 2009)

In cooperation with AsiaFlux, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) established an award entitled "JAXA Award for AsiaFlux Workshop 2009." The award will be presented to one or several scientists who contributed to research activities in AsiaFlux.
The awardees will receive an invitation and JAXA-sponsored travel to AsiaFlux Workshop 2009, which will be held in Sapporo, Japan October 27-29. Each awardee will be requested to make a lecture (presentation) about their study during the meeting.
The awardees will be selected by JAXA and the AsiaFlux Workshop 2009 Organizing Committee. Decisions will be made in light of the following guidelines:- Experience - young and junior scientists are encouraged.
- Region - Scientists in Asian countries are encouraged. Recommendation from local flux network is evaluated.
- Impacts - Study with strong and/or broad impacts should be highly evaluated.
- Remote sensing - Study making use of remote sensing, particularly JAXA's instruments, should be highly evaluated.
The potential candidates should submit the following information to the AsiaFlux 2009 workshop secretariat (workshop2009@asiaflux.net) by e-mail by June 30, 2009:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) or resume. Please describe age of the applicant as of June 1, 2009.
- Title and abstract of the lecture, which will be presented at AsiaFlux Workshop 2009.
- A recommendation letter from the awardee's local flux research network officer, if available.
The winners will be notified by July 31, 2009. The travel charges (airplane, public bus, and local train), hotel charge (without meal), and the registration fee (without banquet) will be provided by this award.
