"Message to young Asian scientists"

We are pleased to announce that Young Researchers in AsiaFlux are going to have the assembly on AsiaFlux Workshop 2009.

Youth AsiaFlux has been kicked off January 2008 under the framework of AsiaFlux.
The main objective of Youth AsiaFlux is to promote friendship among young Asian flux researchers. Pursuing this objective will lead to the realization of one of AsiaFlux's purposes: cultivation of the next generation scientists with skills and perspectives to address global climate changes in Asia as informed leaders and stewards. As part of AsiaFlux Network, Youth AsiaFlux wishes to contribute to the realizing its vision through its activities.

We held young scientist meetings twice already; Taoyuan, Taiwan in 2007 and Seoul, Korea in 2008.
In previous meetings, we invited leading senior scientists as guest speakers. They gave us inspiring talks or joined panel discussions on topics such as personal histories or their philosophy rather than scientific topics discussed in the main conference. (Please refer to AsiaFlux Newsletter No. 25., http://www.asiaflux.net/newsletter/AsiaFlux_Newsletter_25.pdf)
These speeches gave us some hints to solutions for our personal problems or life directions.

This time, we could fortunately invite many guest speakers. Each of them will present about 10 minutes of “message to young scientists”. Moreover, we will have precious time to have close conversation between young and senior scientists.

Youth AsiaFlux Meeting in Sapporo will be a great opportunity to carve out the glorious future through speeches by leading senior scientists. We welcome any young scientists among the AsiaFlux Workshop participants to join this meeting.

Registration will be closed either on October 20 or when the seats are filled.
